Air Gapped Bench
A beautifully figured slab of cherry more than 3 inches thick forms the basis of this piece. Using steel to create negative spaces, this piece is a combination of brute force and precision.
Wood is alive. While we use some epoxy and polyurethane to stabilize wood, we avoid sealing the wood with with plastic or other synthetics because we like to let our wood breathe. We use almost exclusively oil-based finishes, which allow for the organic movement and aging of the wood over time.
