Elm Everything Bench

$875.oo

Elm is one of the strongest and most beautiful woods you can find. However, it is very hard to work with. It is stringy, resistant to blades, very heavy, and loves to move as you work with it, curving itself with the grain and cracking, adding to its character over time.

The leg is constructed of oak and black walnut and attached to the bench via a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired mortise and tenon.

Wood is alive. While we use some epoxy and polyurethane to stabilize wood, we avoid sealing the wood with with plastic or other synthetics because we like to let our wood breathe. We use almost exclusively oil-based finishes, which allow for the organic movement and aging of the wood over time.
